13 monthe old waking up crying in night

Our 13 month DD for the past couple of nights has woken up crying, somethjing which in all honesty she has nnever really done before, when smaller she jsut woke up and gurgled and we new that she wanted to be fed. DH had to take her to our sitting room for the night last night as we had B&B's in and judging by her crying on Friday night would have woken them. By 3am he decided to give her some milk and the she slept well. We are thinking of wkaing her when we go to bed tonight to give her some milk, she won't take any when she goes to bed but we will try that as well, to see if that helps. Don't think they are terrors, just has anybody experienced this and what did you do or does anyone have advice.

have you tried taking her to bed with you at this time, before she is fully awake, and without much fuss and see if she can stay there for a part of the night at least and then maybe returning her later on?

are you worried that if you start to stay up with her, it can turn into a part of she 'sleep routine' and what we grown up then call a 'problem'?

Will try that as well and see what happens. She did spend part of the night with us Friday and what with her and Dh snoring and taking up so much of the bed, My back is now killing me and feel like I have jet lag. We don't have anyone booked in tonight so will see how the milk thing goes and co sleeping. Thanks for the advice.

Could it have been teething? I wouldn't give milk as she might start to expect it all the time.

I did wonder at teething but she has produced 8 and apart from extra pooey nappies it was a question of ok she has got a tooth. When she was in our room she had a bottle when we went to bed butsince she has been in hers she doen't seem to miss it so she is fairly adaptable. Think we will just have to ride this one out. Main worry is that she will wake up B&B's but she can go in a small bedroom away from them and we will put an extra heater in.

the thing with co-sleeping is that when you first start to do it, you go through a period of adjustment having a wee wiggly in bed and your own fears. in about a week, you are all resting better for it.
