Do co-sleepers drop night feeds on their own?

I recently started co-sleeping with ds as it's easier to get him and me to sleep at night that way. But, I have found that he wakes more frequently now - he did wake 2 times per night to feed (and was difficult to settle again, hence the co-sleeping now), but now he is waking 3 times per night.

He is 6 weeks old, and he feeds - 11pm (EBM, dh takes this feed and wakes him for it), 2.30am (ravenous), 4.30 (fussy, doesnt really seem hungry, but whinges if he doesn't get fed, and only feeds for about 5 minutes), then 6.30 (properly wakes up).

He used to go from 2.30 / 3 til about 6 / 6.30 before I started co-sleeping, but getting him off to sleep was a nightmare, and he would wake up unsettled every 20 mins or so.

So, will he drop the 4.30 feed on his own, or should I somehow encourage it (when the time is right obviously). Or, is frequent feeding part of so-sleeping?
