My 13 month old daughter won't go to sleep in her own room/bed , she makes herself sick with crying tried changing the way she goes to bed , made times later still no difference. When she eventually falls to sleep and I get her into bed she's only in there for 1-2 hours before being back awake ! Any advice welcome !

Has she ever gone to sleep easily?
What has changed? Is it possible to change back?

Must she go to sleep in her own room?

She isn't ready to be in her own room. If someone came in, could she protect herself? Her instincts are telling her that she couldn't.
Please have your baby with you until she is ready to have a room of her own.

She used To go to sleep on her own brilliant we've moved house just over a month ago which is when it's changed

If she's struggling on her own in her new bedroom, could you move in there on a mattress on the floor? If not, maybe being the cot into your room for a while. Just until she feels more secure in the new house.

obviously the op wants her baby to go into her own room otherwise she wouldn't have posted!

TittyGolightly · 21/03/2017 06:52

The OP may need to adjust her expectations somewhat, Lala.

It's just some people find it really hard to sleep when their baby shares with them, myself included. I think it might be better to sleep in the babies room with her on the floor as fate suggests.

When we moved house my baby was the same. I slept on the floor next to him for a while and then gradually withdrew when he was asleep I still go in there and comfort him immediately if he wakes. I've never left him to cry or anything. I didn't want to stop him sleeping in his cot as he might start to think it's not safe. It took a few weeks but he loves his cot now. Wakes up early but at least goes to bed with no fear and seems happy to be there!
