To start the night in a cot and end in our bed

I'm worried we're sending mixed messages to our 2yr old dd with regards sleeping arrangements. Although she always ends up in our bed every night at some point, we always put her down in her cot. Recently this has been very difficult and I've had to stay with her until she goes to sleep. My dh thinks we should just put her in our bed from the start as she's inevitably going to end up in there anyway... I think if we can avoid that then surely that's better in the long run? Advice please...

I would says it's preferable to go to sleep in her own bed, for as long as she will.

Thanks, I think so too. It may be time to remove one side of the cot maybe? She may feel happier in a big girl bed!

Personally speaking I wouldnt. I'm never in a rush to move from a cot. Bedtime and night times are a lot more difficult if they are not already sorted by the time the change is made to a bed.
