Moving baby into toddlers room

I think the baby and I are getting to the point where it's time to move him into his brother's room. Baby is nearly 1, toddler is 2.5

Any tips?! I'm a single mum so can't really divide and rule at bedtime or naps. Baby is breastfed and has been going into his cot then bedsharing with me when he first wakes for a feed.

Is baby sleeping through?

It would be unfair on your toddler to move them into a room together until both are sleeping all night.

Otherwise it is just making your toddler bear the brunt of night waking, rather than just you.

I've been wondering about this. Dd2 is only 3 weeks old but I think we'll have to keep her in with us till she sleeps through or it'd be unfair on dd1. Dd1 slept through at 9 months so fingers crossed.

Yes pretty much sleeping through. Only waking if I trip over something coming to bed or equally stupid things (hence why I want to try him in other room). Obviously if it's a disaster I'll move him back this isn't a finite thing

I'd give it a go then. It definitely gets to the point where you're keeping each other awake. I remember spilling a whole pint of water on my bed in the dark when dd1 was about 3 months. I was so exhausted and didn't wanna wake dd up that I just slept on a towel!
Good luck and I hope you all get lots of sleep.

Itchyfoot I did something similar with calpol...that was a sticky mistake in the morning! Thanks, think it's worth trying at least
