When did you put them in their own room?

Currently having this debate as DD (4 months today) is now sleeping through but tossing and turning when we go to bed and again from 4 or 5 onwards. She doesn't normally wake until 6.30ish though.

I know the SIDs advice is to keep them with you until 6 months but as we are low on the other risk factors we feel reasonably confident of her safety.

It's hard to go against the official advice though. Anyone else been in this situation?

just over 6 months for us ... when i decided to try to start getting her to drop her night feeds... she was fine and i got more sleep... monitor up full though... she still comes in to bed with me if poorly and in the mornings for her morning bf... which i still love... she's 8 months

We put ds in his own room at about 4m, as he had been sleeping through consistently for over a month but his movement and grunting were waking me. We would have put dd out of our room before 6m, but she had to share with ds and we didn't want to jeopardise his sleep with her early waking - so we suffered it instead until we could take it no longer and moved her at 1yo.

It is hard to go against official advice (it was easy with us for ds because we didn't know at the time) but if, as you say, you are low on risk factors then it's probably fine. Both of mine are stomach-sleepers and have always been so.

My DD was about 2 / 3 weeks old when we put her in her own room, in the moses basket inside her cot.
