My DD1 is 4 years old. She loves her sleep. I put her to bed at night between 6.30pm and 7.00pm and then have to wake her the next day at 7.45am or we are late for nursery. During the holidays, weekends, days she may not go to nursery etc she will quite happily go to bed at 6.30pm and wake at 9.00am or even later. Then during the day she can still be tired. We have had a blood test done (one year ago) to establish that everything was OK and everything was OK. Why is she so tired/sleepy? She is busy and active but not overly so, not a huge eater but because of this I do not allow much sugar/junk etc. I do not know any other children like this - is yours?

Sounds normal, some children need a lot of sleep - you just tend to hear about the ones that don't!! If she's always slept a lot then it's probably quite normal for her. My dd can go to bed at 7pm and sleep through to 8.30am. Enjoy it!!

My DD2 regularly slept 14 hours plus, at night just like yours. She still likes her bed now and she is 15! She just won't admit to it now!

She carried on with that for very many years until she realised she was going to bed a lot earlier than her peers!

Make the most of it!
