what do your babies wear to bed?

Dd is 5 months old and sleeps in our room.
Average temp is 17/18 degrees and she currently wears a short sleeved vest, Babygrow and 2.5 tog grobag.

Grobag website says at this temp she should be wearing a long sleeved vest only under a 2.5 tog bag.

Do you think she has too many layers? What do your babies wear ATM?

I had the same question a while back!

Ds is very low weight for his height and seems to feel the cold. I had him in exactly the same arrangement at the same temp and he felt cold to the touch (his chest not just his hands!)
I was told he was overdressed but I kept him like that because he was shivering if I removed a layer.
Now he's a couple of kg heavier he's in a long sleeved pajama plus 1.5tog grobag and seems fine.

Feel the chest - if it's cold then keep them as they are but if it's warm try removing the base layer - too hot is more dangerous than too cold.

I have the bedroom quite cool because I like it like that - window always open. My baby wears vest, sleep suit and bag. Bag tog is more like 1.8 ish though. If you're worried, you could always just have sleep suit without vest under?

I'm the same as you; 6 month old, room 17/18 and I do short sleeved vest, baby gro and 2.5 tog sleeping bag. DD seems fine in it!

I do try and get babygros with built in scratch mitts thou as her hands get super cold (I know it's normal!) and stops her icy hands grabbing me during night feeds! Plus who wants cold hands when they're sleeping?!

Only reason I'm questioning it is because her sleep has been awful for the last week- waking every hour.
So just trying to work out what it could be.

Same temp DS is 10 months old.

He wears long sleeved kldysuit, cotton sleepsuit and a 2.5 tog Grobag

Until last night ds 8months was in short sleeves vest, long sleeved vest, baby grow and 2.5tog bag. He's spent most of the winter like this, apart from very cold nights where he had a long sleeved 3.5tog bag.

Last night he had ss vest and ls vest, 2.5 tog bag. He was fine. Our house us quite cold.

Apparently it is better to have feet uncovered i.e not in a babygrow as this helps them to regulate temperature better. My DS2 slept awfully until recently, one thing that I think has helped us putting pj bottoms on rather than babygrow - he has always been a hot bod though!

Hot bod?! Where did that come from? I meant hot baby!

Everyone I know seems to have them in a baby grow/ sleep suit and bag. I wish they did vests with scratch mitts then would be the perfect compromise.
I think I will start doing grow with no vest and sleeping bag. And then get a lighter tog sleeping bag as it gets warmer.

M and s do long-sleeved vests with scratch mitts! They call them bodysuits. Same thing.

Ds either wears a long sleeve vest and his grow bag or a fleecy onesie he refuses point blank to keep a blanket on x

DD is in with us and our room is 18/19 degrees. She wears just a sleep suit and a 2.5 gro bag so no vest. I'm very paranoid about her getting too hot
