is he sleeping too much in the day? do you give him milk when he wakes at 11?

kittypants · 06/01/2007 13:41

he hardly naps at all in day.30 minutes-1 hour and half.yes i do feed him when he wakes.

i would think he doesn't need milk at that time of night. friends of mine gave their children only water after bedtime, i think hoping that lo will soon catch on that it's not worth waking up for. have recently had to do pick up/ put down thing with my lo and after a couple of nights he's back to sleeping through. (was in our room over xmas cos we had visitors! NIGHTMARE!). HTH.

will try just water thing.how old is your lo?and how did pu pd work for you?how long each night and how many days before you saw results?

16 months and the pu pd took about 3 nights and he was waking about every couple of hours! it was awful but it's sooooo good when they evntually sleep and you wake up one morning and realise they haven't woken all night. good luck!

kittypants · 08/01/2007 09:55

wow!3 nights!we have cot coming soon so will start then.did you do it same as baby whisperer describes?what about naps?

i tried bw but it was a disaster. It involved far more crying than i had imagined. i my think ds is too young to do pu/pd so I am gonna try No Cry Sleep Solution. Good luck

Hi Kittypants, I used the baby whisperer with both of my los and found it fantastic. Your bedtime routine sounds lovely but I think that the baby whisperer book woud suggest that you put your little one in her cot, awake without a bottle.
I give my ds(15mths) his bottle before his story and then he goes into his cot with nothing but his teddy. Then if he wakes up he is not expecting to have his bottle near him and usually goes back to sleep.
I hope this is of some help, we were only a few days into the baby whisperer's method before we got our first full nights sleep so good luck!

thankyou, nice to hear a success story!see what you mean about bottle, will try giving it to him earlier.
cruisemum1,we tried ncss, while i think its excallant i want sleep now!i know that sounds awful but i feel its effecting my parenting as im too tired to cope!the best thing i got from ncss was the routine and luvy.

Thanks

notsogummyanymore · 09/01/2007 12:44

i don't know, i guess what i did was bw -ish? I ve only ever seen the old tv programmes. You could maybe start a new topic and ask around?
