hi ds is 21 mo he has never been a great sleeper a few months ago we managed to get ham settling himself to sleep and sleeping all night.
we put him in a bed about 2/3 months ago ( well its a matress on the floor) and seemed fine then he started waking for a drink in the night so i reduced his bedding 3 nights ago his teeth were giving him jip he was very restless and had a slight temp waking every hour the next night no temp but kept waking to be cuddled and would scream in temper as soon as you put him in bed so dp slept with him till he went to work at half 5 and then ds came in to bed with me
he has cut the tooth and is now fine
last night went to bed at 8.30 went to sleep at 9.15 woke at 11, 2,4 and was up at 9 he goes to sleep on you but wakes screaming when you put him in bed dp gave in and got in his bed with him at half 4 thismorning but that is what ds wants and again he screamed as soon as he went into his bed
please help me break these bad habits!

bumping for you.My 19 month old who has always been quite a good sleeper,is going through a similar phase. She is happy to go to bed,but screams with fury when you leave the room. She has also started waking up & crying when she has drunk all her milk.If I refill her bottle with water she goes into orbit.

I'm hoping it is just a phase & it will pass for both of us!

how was he sleeping when he was in a cot?

nuttymum1 · 04/01/2007 22:27

not to bad in the cot he still had to be cuddled to sleep and would wake in the night for a drink and a cuddle
i did cc tonight started at half 8 and he finally conked out at 10

Nuttymum - is there any particular reason why you put him in a bed now? (just trying to decide which approach my response will take!!!!1 )

nuttymum1 · 04/01/2007 22:43

he was in a travel cot wich he was getting too big for and we was given a mid-height cabin bed a matress and i didnt have anywhere to store the matress so hes sleeping on it!

I'm coming from that angle too (i think) perhaps back into the jolly old cot would help - mine stayed in cots til they were nearly three. Why not?
