6 month old wont sleep on his back

Help.
My boy is 6 months in a few days. Used to sleep at night on his back. Sleeps on his back fine in theday. IN the evening I place him on his side in his Cot, asleep, he moves to his back and wakes. Or I put him on his back and he wakes.
He's bf, with a bottle at 7pm.
In the last week he's been asleeping really lightly too.
We are co sleeping again. I don't like it.
Why is he doing this s and can i do anything?

Is it a problem ?

Dc2 (just 6 months) has been sleeping on his front for a while now; he can roll over so don't see it as a problem

He isn't really rolling. It's a problem because he keeps waking and I don't get on with cosleeping.

My 3 month old won't sleep on her back, she sleeps on her side in her basket and when she falls asleep on me or dh it's usually as we're lying down and she's on her belly and she sleeps better like that.
Apparently it's more comfortable for babies with reflux to be on their front.
You have to weigh up the risks though and do what works best for you. There's lots of advice out there but it's not a one size fits all thing, some babies just won't settle on their backs.

My DS learnt to roll over at 3ish months and from that point onwards refused to sleep on his back. I would flip him back and within two minutes he was back over. I did some research and spoke to health visitors and decided I needed to be pragmatic (I couldn't stay up all night flipping him). Once they are strong enough to roll themselves the risks associated with sleeping on their sides/tummies reduce. So maybe try him sleeping on his front and see how he sleeps (does he keep his head to the side?)

But he's fine on his back during the day. And its not reflux. And this is new. He used to be fine. I wonder if its an issue about bei g close to me.

Could you roll a towel up so he stays on his side?
