the spare room works for me ( when dh snores not me) also copious amounts of wine generally helps me to sleep through it if you find a miracle cure please let me know

A sharp jab with your elbow into the snorers ribs gives temporary relief I find.

On a more serious note, snorers need to sleep on their side to stop/reduce the snoring so one theory is to sew a tennis ball or similar into the back of their pyjama top so they can't lie on their back. Not tried it though.

I got a job lot of ear plugs from the British Snoring Association cos of dh's snoring. He also started going to the gym and started eating more healthily as being overweight and having a large collar size pre-disposes you to being a snorer. I dont think there really is a cure but this site gives lots of info and ideas:
