Baby finally sleeping, so why am I so tired?!

My baby is 4 months old and until recently slept terribly. She is sleeping soooo much better and usually only wakes once for milk at around 4, so why am I so flippin' tired?! I feel worse now than I did when she was up every 90 mins Sad

I'm falling asleep on the sofa by 8.30 every night and get so tired I feel sick, but I am getting plenty of sleep so it doesn't make sense?!

Any ideas? Are there any vitamins or supplements that will make me feel more human?

Vit b12 supplements, iron esp around my period, lots of water and a v healthy diet.

I am still not fully recovered but the above did help me.

Your hormones will have changed as well, and the adrenaline you've been running on since your baby was born is probably lower now you're getting more sleep - all of which is leaving you exhausted.

B12 and lots of vegetables, less sugar, should help.

caravanista13 · 13/10/2015 11:00

When you're very sleep deprived you're running on adrenalin. Now you're getting more sleep but you've still got a huge sleep deficit to catch up on.

tinymeteor · 13/10/2015 11:11

What they said. You have some major catching up to do, plus a 4 month is probably getting busier in the daytime so you have less downtime then. Avoid too much caffeine, eat well, and don't worry about it.

Congrats on a 4 month old that sleeps, btw - result Wink

even though the deluxe is to 8 months and the grande 8 months to 3 years, I went got the grande as I have a big baby and didn't want to spend thst kind of money and then have to spend it again!!

Ohh I've googled and I pray it's he solution for us. So my baby is huge too (99.6 percentile in length - he was 10lb 8 and it's all height!). Would u recommend the Grande?

ALongTimeComing · 13/10/2015 18:58

Are you breastfeeding? Are you hydrated enough? Diet?

Although would agree- the adrenaline wears off and 'normal' life kind of kicks in a bit. Confused

WaitroseEssentialPancetta · 13/10/2015 19:01

Mine sleeps through too and I'm exhausted. It's disappointing isn't it?

didireallysaythat · 13/10/2015 19:21

DS2 is five years old and I'm still knackered.

Whatthefreakinwhatnow · 13/10/2015 21:18

I'm not sure I definitely was drinking enough so I have upped my water today by carrying a bottle with me and my headache of 4 months seems to have gone! Smile

Yes u would definitely go grande havalina, it fits perfectly in the cot and she's well snuggled in ir. The deluxe would be too small on a matter of weeks I think, no way would it last to 6 months let alone 8 for us!
I was so sceptical about it and quite cross with DP for spending the money but so so glad he did, I can't stress enough how good it's been!
