Tips for moving 13 month old into his own room

Baby is a good sleeper in a good routine. Mostly sleeps 7.30ish to 7.30ish. However when we go to bed we sometimes end up disturbing him and then he's awake for a few hours!

Current bedtime routine is bath, milk, white noise app on, dummy, lay on our bed for a cuddle, 5 mins later he's asleep and we transfer to cot.

If I try and lay him straight in the cot it takes him ages to settle, so I end up picking him up and cuddling on the bed and he's asleep in 5 mins! This is why I'm scared to move him into his own room!

I go back to work in a couple of weeks so would really like him settled in his own room by then.

Any tips?

We moved DS at 10 months. We had friends to stay one weekend so borrowed the cot we keep at my mums (she is looking after DS now Im back at work). We left a cot in our room and his for a few days before starting daytime naps in his bedroom cot. After a few more days we started putting him in there at night too. DS crawls around upstairs when we are showering etc so he was already used to exploring and playing in his bedroom.
