DD4 keeping herself awake by making 'noise'

Hi

I dont know if anyone else has/is experiencing this with their child. After putting DD to bed, she makes this 'noise' to keep herself awake - it can go on for hours!

We've tried everything! Suggestions welcome!

Thanks

what kind of noise?
is is on purpose, or an involuntary sound?

well - the paediatrician has said that her kneeling up and rocking, is her pleasuring herself (im really uncomfortable saying this) and its a heavy breathing/panting sound - but she can make the same sound without kneeling up - if you understand?!?

Sounds like masturbation to me.

Dd1 used to do this from age 2 to about 3.5, generally involving humping a range of innocent cuddly animals, accompanied by some quite alarming grunting sounds. Dd2 is about to turn 3 and also likes to fall asleep while rubbing herself, either against soft toys or piled up blankets.

Ignore it. If it makes her happy and she's not doing it in front of granny, where's the harm?

lol - Thanks, Frogs! I think it is partially masturbation - but she can do it almost any time - last night she was sat in her car seat making the noise, with no actually movement involved, but she did glaze over and become unresponsive
