Ds1 is just turned 4 in August and is in reception full time

He has always been an early riser (before 6am most days)
But since half, then clocks going back, then being ill last week, his sleep has gone crazy.

I can't keep him awake past 6:15pm and then of course he is up before 5am full of the joys of spring.

We have tried alsorts to keep him awake.
He has fallen asleep while I was preparing dinner tonight whilst playing Ludo with DH at 5:45!!!

We have tried to put his bedtime back 10 mins every few days but he doesnt even get to a reasonable bedtime

He fell asleep on the floor the other night reading his reading book.

HELP!

You seem to have tackled this in the most obvious way. A lot of Reception children are finding this half-term tough - you may just have to wait until he learns to cope with it. [wince emoticon]

Perhaps try tackling the other end of the day - my DD1 is also an early riser, I frequently remind her that if it's dark she should be in bed (works some of the time) and I leave books/colouring by the bed so she can do quiet activities when she wakes up rather than make lots of noise and wake her siblings up.

Good luck!
