Advice needed badly as back to work in a week. After getting DS sleeping through the night from about age 10months, by using gradual retreat, he has recently started waking in the night. Bedtime he screams dreadfully and needs to be stroked to sleep (still crying as he does so) and then he wakes in the night and the only way to console him is to take him into bed with me....but he is tossing and turning and waking a lot and keeping me a wake....getting about 3 hours of solid sleep a night. Not sure what to do. Not breasfeading any more. He eats well in the day time so not a hunger thing. he drinks a lot of water when he wakes in the night. Should I send OH in the night, even though this will result in soooo much screaming. I am finding it unbearable. Thanks for any suggestions? Is this a situation needing me to let him cry? I have always been so against crying. He has about 6 teeth about to come through and also has just learnt to walk...a lot of development stuff going on, but doesn't help the fact that i need to sleep, as I can't possibily do my job on the amount of sleep i am getting. Plus, have turned into such a horrid mummy for my lovely 4 year old girl :( Please offer ideas - greatly appreciated x
