Any help advice please. My dd has recently started coming downstairs crying saying she is having a bad dream. We have not yet got to the bottom of it and have asked her teacher if there is something that is worrying her at school but have been told no. She has said she is not worried about anything at home any ideas please

I came on to answer about night terrors, honestly they are very different to nightmares - the child is screaming and eyes are open but they are not awake. They often see things that are not there. I wouldn't worry about nightmares, I had a vivid imagination and from about 5-10 years old I would have recurrent nightmares at least 4 nights out of seven. It was just that, imagination. It may be a book or film she has seen?

I don't know sleep walking runs in the family so maybe this is a different kind of sleep problem
