I think. He started a bit of osteo when he was tiny but has never really slept through consistently and now is 13 months!

I wonder if this may cure him of waking up screaming once or twice a night?

appoinment on wednesday so watch this space

good idea.

really helped with my ds who had horredous colic and was rubbish sleeper.

having said that I think some children are naturally lighter sleepers (as are adults).

Codswallop · 07/05/2004 12:55

I think 13 months of borken nights is enough!

i took my ds1 to a cranial osteopath a couple of years ago as whenever he went to sleep he would push his head up to the top of the bed and headbang if he was ever in a stressful situation. i can honestly say it was an amazing experience - he surrendered completely and fell asleep in my arms during treatment. when we went home he fell asleep for 4 hours! he came highly recommended after asking lots of people. we took him for a further 2 treatments and the same thing happened. i don't know what he did or how he did it but something definately happened!good luck for wednesday

I have had it before and was a real non believer

ds2 had colic form 4 - 9pm each night and it was cured with 2 treatments..

thought ds3 was ok but, well1

sHRUB WAS YOUR DS OLDER?sorry

isn't colic the most hideous thing to deal with? I think if you've not had to deal with it you can have no idea.
we used to have 5pm-8pm every night and about 2/3 hours in the day. he didn't sleep through until about 9 months and is still (2.5) a bit of a dodgy sleeper.

juniper68 · 07/05/2004 13:39

I picked DS2 up from pre school today and they were all raving about him and his good behaviour
What a difference to a few weeks back pre cranial osteopathy

juniper68 · 07/05/2004 13:40

DS1 had colic for months and screamed for hours a day. He didn't sleep much for a year wish i'd known about C O then

shrub · 07/05/2004 13:45

my ds1 was just 2 years old - wish i had found C.O
sooner.

Codswallop · 07/05/2004 13:46

Oh right

am worried ds 3 may crawl off bed!

OP posts:
juniper68 · 07/05/2004 13:49

i sat ds2 on my knee when he had it done

shrub · 07/05/2004 13:59

i have recently taken my ds2 to C O and he sits on my lap in a chair facing the bed (hope makes sense) the C O gives him a few toys to play with until he relaxes then uses the bed.

Spod · 16/05/2004 10:35

Codswallop..... did it work? am desperatly seeking sleep solutions!

coddycodcod · 16/05/2004 20:59

ok well the story is quite funny as on the ? snday night he slept through for the first time for ages so have delayed it till THIS wed. NOw he has a horrific sounding chest so is not sleeping anyway..

will report in, you DO have a good memory

coddycodcod · 19/05/2004 11:42

so we have been

h eaid that as ds3 (unlike ds1 and 2) gets quite hyper and mobile when overtired that he is producing seratonin that wakes him later on int he evening.

am to massage his spine - more details if you wan hem

am not sure if a load of guff but we will see

katierocket · 19/05/2004 11:56

that's interesting cod. my DS has always been the type to go hyper rather than sleepy, even as newborn he would never ever just fall asleep, he would get more and more wound up and we had to rock or walk him to sleep.
let us know if the massage stuff works.

coddycodcod · 19/05/2004 11:57

yes am sceptical of it but you never know

suzywong · 19/05/2004 12:03

Been there done that, no joy but good luck to you

coddycodcod · 19/05/2004 12:03

yes works for colic tho

Spod · 19/05/2004 20:54

i'd like to know more please coddy as our dd goes hyper and bit flappy before bed... maybe i should just put her to bed earlier then, before the hyper stage sets in? anyway, tell me more (tell me that it works!!!)

coddycodcod · 19/05/2004 21:05

ok he has woken already for a drink - think he was stuck actch gave him a slug of water and back to sleep
tried to massage him but quite tricky

Spod · 22/05/2004 10:26

hows it going coddy? any improvements?

papillon · 22/05/2004 10:47

I have not had cranial work done on my dd - but have a friend who took her ds for cranial osteo and it improved his sleeping alot.
I really believe it works as I have in the past suffered a prolasped disc and spine curvature and have been treated many times by osteopaths. The difference is amazing. you know we have 7 vertebrae in our neck alone!

I could have done with some last night as my body was out of kilter and I slept very lightly as a result. Naughty as I should have done some yoga stretches before bed.
Could be why babies wake up alot.. sleep lighter when they are not aligned.

So how is your ds now coddy? do you massage him after a bath? I wish we could dd but she has a habit of getting all upset and screaming and massage don´t go together

Spod · 25/05/2004 10:09

has it helped coddy?

Bouj · 25/05/2004 10:26

This is really interesting Coddy, that is exactly what my ds does and I am at the end of my tether. I was going to post today about it, see if anyone else had this problem. As he is my first, I have no idea if I am doing something wrong (ie. its a discipline thing) or its a phase. But I can count the number of times he has slept through in 13 months He also had osteo when small (about 8 weeks) because he was so highly strung and miserable all the time. I think it did help somewhat, but so did time. I too am sceptical but willing to try anything! We went to a homeopath last week, but not sure thats helping.... Keep us updated.

ninja · 25/05/2004 11:31

I'll keep an eye on this as well as I have another hyper little girl - coddy tell us how you're doing
