DS2 is 3 weeks and currently feeds at 10pm, 1am,3am and 7am (ish) My DH is away on business this week and i'm feeling very tired and down and trying to cheer myself by thinking this doesn't last forever but I was wondering roughly when he is likely to drop one of the feeds. I know this varies greatly but like I said I'm just looking for some light at the end of the tunnel!

hello! it is horrendous at first isnt it!

are you bf or ff?

My dd is bf, started off like yours, then slowly weaned down, then started teething so went back up again, then settled again so went back down, then slept 12hrs a few times, now has a cold and was up 5 yes FIVE pigging times for food last night.
The moral of this is...I dont know! They eat less when they need to, and more when they need to. You just have to give yourself up to it and NAP IN THEDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

of course, if you are ff it could all be different.........

Yes I am ff but lo still seems to have little snacks sometimes as if he was still breast feeding. i suppose it's still eary days!

I don't know if this is any help but when DS was 3 weeks he was up at least every 2 hours if not sooner.
It should get better by 6 - 8 weeks. As she is ff any chance you can get some help on the night feeds as you must be knackered. Can your DH do one weekend night as he is away on business he will be getting full nights sleep during the week ?

Rookiemum - I have warned dh that I will want a decent lie in this weekend! hope is making the most of 8 whole hours sleep! what bliss!! Not sure if it is the sleep depravation but I keep hearing 'twinkle twinkle' and I can work out where it's coming from!!

I really feel for you. I couldn't cope with the lack of sleep and after a few weeks DH ended up having to do three nights a week & go into work, bless him.

At least with your DH being away you don't have to worry about waking him up, that bugged me more than anything, if it isn't bad enough having to get up in the middle of the night when its cold and dark, you have to do it quietly, arrrghh.

Anyway our DS started sleeping really well from about 8 weeks so fingers crossed your DS does the same.

my 3 year old still wakes up at least twice a night still (not for milk), so I hope to god yours settles more quickly into sleeping through the night than mine!!! Good luck.
