Tell me about 4 month sleep regression please!

My LO is a month old and is sleeping fairly well, but I read something about sleep regression that happens at four months, when babies sleep changes to adult sleep. This didn't really make sense to me, could someone fill me in a bit so I know what to expect?

IME don't panic- it doesn't affect all babies. Mine didn't regress at 4 months BUT some of my friends did. It meant waking more frequently and more frequent night feeds for a few weeks. My baby got very slowly progressively better at sleeping between birth-6 months.

Adult sleep (ie tired, close eyes, go to sleep) doesn't develop until school age, 4 or 5 years old.

The 4 months sleep regression (which I'd never heard of or experienced in the three children I had before discovering mumsnet) is not to do with adult sleep.

Certainly don't worry about something that's not happened yet. Just feed your baby often and make sure they get plenty of sleep.

As a general rule always make sure baby had more feeds and more sleeps than you would expect, more frequently than you would expect.
