11 week old crying at all sleep times

Any time I put my little boy into his sleeping bag, let alone his crib, he stats to cry. It takes a while to calm him enough to even put him down. It's like he's scared to go to sleep.

When he does go to sleep (he'll chunter & chatter a bit after we leave the room, but we leave with his eyes open & he'll settle himself within 2-3 minutes) he usually sleeps well at night, but wakes screaming from all daytime naps at 45 minutes. He won't resettle for longer sleeps in the daytime but will go from 11:30pm (after dream feed) through to anywhere between 4:30-6:30am without bother.

We have a simple routine of bottle, Bath, story, lullaby, bed; no Bath for naps but otherwise the same.

My sister said her LO cried before sleeping up until 9 months old & that it's fairly normal - is this true?? It really upsets me that my boy seems to need to cry before being put down. Is it something that he will grow out of?

Have you tried a swaddle and/or a dummy?
