Moving baby to a cot from a Moses basket

Hi, my 11 week old is still in a Moses basket. I plan to travel with him at the end of April and he will be sleeping in a travel cot while we are overseas. Do you think I should start training him to sleep in a cot before we go so the change is not so drastic for him? Does anyone have any experience with this?

No experience but I'm posting because I would like to know the same thing

I started the transition by putting the moses basket in the cot for a few days. I also used the cot to put DD in so she was safe after nappy changes while I cleared up/washed etc. I then progressed to using it for naps before the whole night time thing. She adapted very quickly.

Once my DS got too big for the Moses basket, I just moved him straight to a cot. I had planned to do it gradually with putting the Moses basket in first but it actually worked out well just going straight for it, he slept through & was happy to have the extra space. We used to find him at random ends of the cot stretched right out, he loved it!

I've just moved my DD into her own room at 14 weeks as she was outgrowing the Moses basket, she is quite long and when she wriggles I would find her head touching the end but plenty of room where her fee are where she has wriggled up haha!

she's been in her cot for 2 nights now but in her Moses basket to get used to it - was a bit squashed up this morning though so I think I will take Moses basket away tomorrow night.

Has made no difference to her sleep as she was a great sleeper anyway Grin she wakes up slightly earlier as her blind and curtains let light in, going to get blackout lining for them and should be back to normal Grin
