My DD is fairly easy to settle at bedtime and wake ups but it HAS to be with breastfeeding her to sleep. I'm not really too bothered as it works and after trying other methods that failed (and I mean really trying!) it's better for our family to just offer the breast. So my question is not how to stop her needing to bf to sleep but rather, from past experience when will she be likely to grow out of it?

Mine didn't grow out of it but I didn't need to be there either. They would accept a cup of milk and daddy if I was actually out of the house.

Mine is 3.4 still breast feeding but when she was about 2.6 I told her my boobies were hurting and she could have a little of each boob before sleep but then she had to fall asleep herself with a bottle of milk if she wanted and some tickles. I'm still doing this. It stopped her waking so much at night but I don't think she would ever grow out of this herself. We co sleep and there is just me and her in our family so I don't mind at all :-)
