And dreading tonight!! Tell me it's a growth spurt and age will sleep tonight too Confused. I literally cannot rouse her, had her in the bath- fell asleep, bouncer- asleep, naked and wet all over herself- asleep, musical playtime with 3yo-asleep! I'll see you non sleepers on here tonight - it's a date! Yawn!!!!

Umm...don't mean to sound awful but have you checked her for a temp? I don't think it's very normal to not be able to rouse your three year old from sleep?

PeterParkerSays · 23/02/2015 16:35

Happy, I think that's a baby being at musical playtime with an older 3-year old sibling, rather than the 3 year old being unrousable. Best of luck tonight Cooper.... can your DH / DP do a stint?

GiddyOnZackHunt · 23/02/2015 16:35

I read it as even a noisy 3 yr old didn't wake the sleeping baby. But even so that does seem odd. Has the baby fed? How old is the baby?

Littlef00t · 23/02/2015 16:44

Dd would eat like a monster then the next day sleep for hours when she was about 6wks old. Not actually all day though.

HappyGoLuckyGirl · 23/02/2015 17:08

Ah right, newborn and 3yo sibling? How old is baby? I think not being able to rouse a child from sleep is still concerning? might be overreacting due to having a child with health issues

Cooper11111 · 23/02/2015 17:26

She is 9 weeks (3 corrected) has fed fine today. No temp. Managed to rouse her at 4.30ish but is now dozing again! Must just be a growth spurt or something! Shock

Up to 6 weeks ish newborns can basically spend all of their time either feeding, sleeping, or trying to get to sleep.

Not sure how your daughter fits in with age/corrected age, but sleeping all the time is not something to worry about it is perfectly normal. It shouldn't affect night time sleep.

Good sleep promotes more better sleep. Smile

That said, a completely non-rousable baby is something to worry about and is not normal.

Has she recently had her 8 week jabs? My DD slept almost solidly for two days, the third and fourth day after all her baby immunisations. Didn't affect her night times.

Cooper11111 · 23/02/2015 18:38

She hasn't just had jabs but is a week post ear infection, finished medication yesterday. Perhaps just the tail end of that? She is miserable, will stop trying to entertain her and just let her sleep and keep everything crossed for tonight. Took a whole to flip days and nights so want to keep it that way. The whole corrected thing baffles my mind- I guess every baby is just different!
