Short naps and early morning wakings at 13 month

Anyone else having or had a struggle with short naps and early morning wakings with a baby of this age? I know they're related and because she's only getting 1 hour nap (2 catnaps) during the day it's causing early wakenings the following morning and we are stuck in a vicious cycle. When she sleeps better during the day she generally sleeps better at night but I don't know how to tackle it. Has anyone got any advice please?

I would look at ways to help her sooth back to sleep after those daytime naps. What happens to get her to sleep in the daytime?

Hello, she's very good at falling asleep both at bedtime and at nap time. Can self settle through night etc but will struggle to settle back to sleep after short naps or very early mornings. We've tried ignoring, ssh pat, cuddling back to sleep, pram, car etc but it does t always work. After 12 hours sleep last night, she napped for 1 hour 50 minutes (3 hours after waking) this morning. Then she has about 45-50minutes this afternoon (about 3 hours, 15 after waking) this tends to work well after a good nights sleep. But if she wakes at 5 and we can't get her back to sleep, the short naps return then we get stuck in a vicious cycle

We're in a similar position with my 11mo DD. Am starting to wonder if she is trying to drop a nap. She has done a couple of random days recently where she has just had one nap.....

Can't really help I'm afraid, can only sympathise. DD is 13 months and has lalways been a ridiculously early waker. We uses to put this down to napping too close to wake up rime. So she would wake at 4 then be napping again at 7-8.

When we pushed the nap back it did improve a little, so she would wake at 5 rather than 330-4!!

But we are now down to just one nap so she naps around 12 for at least 2 hours.

Sadly she still wakes at 445-5 ish. We leave her to cry/shout for a bit as have tried re settling with patting, cuddles etc and it doesn't work. But she just will not go back to sleep. It really is exhausting, especially now that I'm back at work!! Still at least we have plenty of time to get ready in the mornings Hmm

Try cutting to one nap? I've heard it could be a sign they are ready.

Apparently, putting the baby to bed earlier can help with early wakings. I know it sounds illogical, but Ive been told that if you try putting them to bed 20min earlier it make a big difference. Ive only just started trying that with our ds.
