When your under- 6mo wakes the second you go to bed...

14 week old crap sleeper here. She is usually settled by 8 or 8.30 but wakes as soon as I go to bed - just seems to be such a light sleeper, even with white noise playing. It's so annoying cause I'd like to go to bed at a reasonable hour but she's having none of it. I think she would sleep longer if dh and I weren't in the room but then that kind of defeats the SIDS logic.

I hear of loads of babies this age (both ebf and ff) doing a nice long stretch til 12 or 1,2,3 am. Is mine the only baby that wakes to any slight noise at all?!

Have tried dream feed - doesn't work.

Can sympathise entirely. DS2 is also 14 weeks and can't break his 40 minute cycle (neither did his brother at this age though so at least I know it's normal). Think we quite often disturb him. No answers but much sympathy!

My DD does this... She's 2.5 years old and in another room, but as soon as my light is switched off (around midnight) she wakes up! Shock

You say the dream feed doesn't work - how long did you try for? Mine (also 3.5 months) took a good couple of weeks before he got out of his previous waking pattern. Also have you thought about moving her into her own room? I know what you mean about SIDS and recommendations, but it needs to work for you as a family. We moved DS into his own room at 6 weeks as none of us was getting more than an hours sleep at a time as he would wake us / we would wake him constantly. It was better immediately and he now sleeps a good 6-7 hour stretch after Dream feed at 10.30 then wakes for morning about 7.30. Yours is 14 weeks now, could you consider moving her? Maybe discuss with your HV?
