getting littlehawk to sleep without 200 trips to the bloody loo!!!!!!

Please can someone help me!! We have just started toilet training, with pretty good success. He has some issues withholding poo, but we have medicine to move things along, and he is doing really well. The trouble is, he has cottened on to the fact that we have to honour his request to go to the toilet, and uses it to great effect at nap and bed time!!! He is up to ridiculous o clock after loads of loo trips, and it's getting ridiculous! I am ready to kill him by the time he is finally asleep. Any help would be greatly appreciated! He is just 2 1/2.

Is he sleeping without nappy as well? My dd, similar age, uses toilet in the day, but still in nappy at night, which I tell her when we put it on is for her "wees and poos in the night." She doesn't actually poo in the night (still wees loads) but I just want to reassure her that, as her body isn't ready to be dry over night yet, it is ok to wee in the nappy at night, and she needn't worry about it. It seems to work. I know at some point she'll need to be dry at night, but she's just not ready for it yet.

No, he has only been training 2weeks, and does have a nappy at night, but he seems to just use it as an excuse for carry on! We are about to string him up!!!!! But the one time I didn't take him, and said we could try again in 10 minutes, he did poo in his nappy! I felt terrible, because it wasn't his fault, he had asked to go, but that was after about 15 trips to the loo!!! Aarrgh!

If he does ask to go to the loo after bedtime keep it totally low key, don't talk more than necessary, keep your voice very neutral and boring, make it functional but not engaging? You may be doing this of course but it helped with my DS's.

I am trying to do this, but I am finding myself having to go back to nursing him to sleep, as otherwise, he is a toad!
