8 month old wakes up after an hour at night!

Hi all,
My 8 month old little girl has, for the past few months, woke up after an hour or less. Normally she would go back to sleep after i sing to her in the cot (she gets rocked to sleep normally but because she's not wide awake she'll stay in the cot as long as she knows I'm there).

However, recently after the hour she wakes up and will only go back to sleep if I lift her and wakes up again if I put her in the cot! Then she ends up just awake for hours! She's not wet, doesn't have wind and doesn't want any of her bottle until she's been up at least an hour. She doesn't seem to be in pain either, she just wants to play!

What could be causing this and how do I get her to stay asleep!? I've tried letting her cry it out but after an hour I had to give in and lift her.

Any advice would be very much welcome, thanks!

Cant help but my 11 month old is the EXACT same, hes now in our bed every night after being asleep in jis cot for an hour or so

I tried cutting out naps through the day so he was knackered - didnt work.

Tried keeping him up quite late too- didnt work!

My DS went through a phase of waking up after the first hour every single night for a few months around the 8 month mark. I never figured it out. I guess it's after 1 sleep cycle but not sure why... Am interested to find out though!

My 8 m/o is the same. It's a nightmare isn't it.

Sometimes he wakes in the night and doesn't go back to sleep for about 3 hours. It's exhausting.

Mine 9 month old did this. If she falls asleep herself in her cot, she stays asleep, if she's fed to sleep or falls asleep on me and transfered, she wakes after an hour upset. I've been really strict about letting her fall asleep non the Cot since then to the point where I wake her up if she nods off on the boob.

Got to thinking that maybe her waking up was because during her light sleep cycle she realised she wasn't being held so she freaked out at being alone.. So I thought getting her to sleep in her cot in the first place would prevent this.
I have being trying on and off to get her to sleep in the cot but it was until last night she finally did it! And tonight too! And the waking after an hour stopped too so I think my theory could have some sense behind it haha
A projector was my miracle! I just left her tucked in in her cot watching the projector and she was out for the count within ten minutes! I've tried the projector before but stayed in the room, so I think she knew to cry enough and Id lift her but because I left her alone she didnt even cry just fell asleep!

Hope this helps some of you out, projector all the way! :)
