What has happened to my amazing sleeper?

Ever since I got my DD home she has slept well at night. Terribly in the day but amazingly at night. She started to do about eight hours sometimes at about a month old! She is now three months and it has all gone. For about a week now she is doing three hours and then up every one and a half to two.

Now I'm pretty certain it's not her exiting the sleepy newborn phase because she has been very alert (and very tricky to get to sleep in the day) for a long time. I'm also sure she isn't getting too much day sleep.

I think she is getting enough to eat in the day as she has plenty of wet nappies and poos (four yesterday). But my boobs never feel full at all in the evenings and her bedtime feed is usually an hour long so could it be possible I just don't have enough milk?

She also has TERRIBLE wind which I think may wake her but she then seems desperate to eat (or suck back to sleep?). She's not a good BFer (had tt snipped about six weeks ago and not seen much improvement) and my nipples are quite painful.

Sorry for long post, didn't want to drip feed.

Also please don't tell me that's just life. I do know that this current situation is better than many, my last baby slept about half an hour to an hour at night for a long long long time.

It is probably the famous four month sleep regression - which really can happen anywhere between three and five months. Smile They move to a slightly more adult sleep pattern and Wham. If you are lucky it will fix itself.
