Am thinking this may be necessary soon but have no idea if the NHS even offer these, and if so, under what circumstances. My son is 2.2. Help?

Hi we were desperate and approached our local NHS in London. Nothing! No sleep clinics...tried health visitor- useless really, only suggested CIO which I only wanted to do as a last resort. Used a sleep consultant in the end; Sian at www.sleepbabies.co.uk-she gives a free 15 minute telephone consultation if you can't afford it. Saved my sanity using her..Ask your health visitor though you maybe lucky. Good Luck!

In Kirklees our local NHS health trust have a team separate to the health visitors called integrated children's services. They have trained nursery nurses who came to the job through experience of working with children, rather than health visitors who qualify as nurses first. I find the nursery nurses to be far more helpful to discuss behaviour problems with, where the health visitors are more clued up on straight health stuff. I always feel like my health visitor is quoting stuff about behaviour out of a textbook, where the nursery nurses have actually had loads of experience of putting it into practice. I don't know how this compares to NHS services in other areas but where I am I use my nursery nurse as a go to supernanny and her advice completely transformed my ds's sleeping habits. Might be worth looking into?

That's a really good point Buttercup. I'll have a chat with his nursery carers next week.
