Recurrence of startle 6 month old

So worried. I have a 6 month old who has slept really well since 11 weeks. His Moro reflex went around the same time. My son now startles many times each time he sleeps. He can startle 10 times in a 30 minute nap. It doesn't matter if he is at home, in his pram or car seat he still startles. This has been going for a month now. He's never been swaddled as he always hated it so this is all of a sudden. I have an spot with paediatrician shortly but would appreciate hearing from anyone else who has been through this. My child health nurse said its not normal for startle to return :-( Thank you

My daughter is 6 months old and will startle frequently if she falls asleep in any seated position (bouncer, swing etc.) which inevitably wakes her up.

In all other respects her development is normal - advanced compared to her siblings at the same age.

I have read that the reflex can remain up to 8-9 months. Hopefully it is nothing to worry about!

Thank you for your reply. My concern is that he never used to do this after his Moro reflex went away - he used to sleep without startling at all. Hopefully it's a developmental stage and he'll outgrow it.
