2.10 waking at night, what can I do?

My previously great sleeping DD, 2.10, has recently started having disturbed nights. It happens once or twice a week (usually when I'm at work the next day!). She will wake usually 3-4 times in the night, each time crying. I try leaving her for a few minutes but unlike when she was a baby, she won't drop back off and the crying just ramps up. Sometimes she shouts 'mummy mummy no no' which made me wonder whether it was a bad dream. When I go in she is fairly easily consoled but cannot tell me what the matter is. Sometimes she says that her feet hurt. Last night she woke up 3 times - the 3rd time I made my DH go in and this morning he announced that she was cold, thinking he had solved it. But she wasn't cold the first time (said her feet hurt) or the second (said she wanted a drink). I get that I am probably making it worse by going in to her and giving cuddles/milk etc but I'm not sure what else to do, and I still don't know why she is waking! Especially when it happens several times on one night and then not again for a few days.
Anyone have any bright ideas?!
