6 month won't nap in cot during daytime now!

Help, my 6 month old will only nap on me, in car seat or buggy. She would nap in her cot during daytime up until 8 weeks ago. Have tried leaving her to settle in her cot but she doesn't stop crying so end up picking her up. Any similar experiences or tips to help her have daytime naps in cot again?

Hi, I was just about to start a new thread and saw your post. I am in a similar situation and am at my wits end. I have a 5 month old boy who won't nap during the day unless I go out in the car. I try going through a nice nap routine with him, similar to night time but the minute we go into his room or I put him in his cot he kicks off and screams and screams. He has always been a screamer and used to scream all day every day! But now thankfully he is more settled and happier apart from when he's tired and nap times. If I persevere with napping in his cot he just fights and screams so I end up picking him up and rocking him but even that's a fight so I end up taking him out in the car as I can't stand it. I just don't know what to do anymore. I just want to go and hide somewhere. I'm not trying to take over your post by the way, it's just nice to know that I'm not the only one, and if anyone has any advice it would be really great.

Thank you

No I'm pleased you responded, It's so tough as she used to get off in her cot with only a small grizzle during the day but now she is really distressed and as much as I try to leave her she doesn't settle and screams more. Just want to be able to get her to sleep in cot as I'm not always out. The past few days have been more of a nightmare as I've been unwell so haven't been out much which means she has had little to no naps despite being visibly tired. It's strange because she's gone off to sleep now after maybe 5 minutes and generally night times are okay. Yes any suggestions would be gratefully received.

No real suggestions other than my ds was like this since birth. Will happily sleep at night in cot but daytime naps would only sleep on dh, me, pram or car. We just let him really! We didn't see the need to upset him. But now at 14 months if he is tired he zonks out wherever and in/on whatever. Maybe try getting them asleep on you first, one they are it of it gently transfer to cot or even the sofa, surrounded by cushions?

Hi thanks for responding! Yes they fall asleep on me and I wait say 15 minutes before transferring to cot but they see through it and cotton on they've been moved :-) I don't mind them falling asleep on me but just harder atm as I've got a rotten cold so feel it'd be better to be able to move them somewhere less germ ridden plus it's odd how they now don't like it compared to the first few months they would go off in the cot in the daytime fairlyeasily.
