Do you ever leave the car at home because you're tired?

Only asking because I nearly crashed at 55mph in my knackered state last night - (or was it just poor driving skills? - I'm not usually too bad).

Don't get much sleep now but (5-6 hours on a good night) but when ds2 was in his early weeks I was getting 2-3 hours a night and did silly things like driving off with the boot/back doors open and not strapping my toddler in (he soon let me know about it!).

I've just read this back to myself and i sound really irresponsible and just plain mad for driving when tired but I'm just trying to get on with life and the demands of being a mum of two. I imagine there's plenty of us out there!

I'd love to leave the car at home but we live miles from anywhere. I did all the silly things to - I'd park the car, get the 3 DCs out and leave one of the doors wide open. I drove off with my phone & house keys on the bonnet. I even left the shopping and my handbag on the front doorstep once, went round the back of the house to do something else and forgot all about the bags for a couple of hours. Fortunately, I never left the DCs anywhere by accident!

It was only after my 3rd baby started sleeping through the night and I was getting 8 hours sleep or more that I realised what a zombie I'd been for the previous few months. As I used to drive my DH on a 12 mile round trip to the station at 7am it's a miracle that I didn't crash the car.

Don't drive if you feel really bad. It will get better soon
