10 month old awake for 3 hours in the night or awake every hour all night?

10 month old DD has always been a bad sleeper but seems to be getting progressively worse. She either wakes up regularly all night, sometimes as much as every hour. Or she will sleep ok until say 1am then refuse to go back to sleep for 3 hours. I'm feeling especially sleep deprived today and it's starting to get me down. Feel like I haven't been able to enjoy maternity leave to its fullest and am worried about how I will cope when I return to work in 3 months. Anyone got any ideas or words of wisdom?

Sorry no words of wisdom but I have exactly the same with my 6 month old. She goes down fine at 7 then she'll be unsettled and I end up going in every half hour to hour to pat her back to sleep. I feed at 1 and can either fight for few hours then or she goes back to sleep then wakes between 3 and 4 for a 2 hours. It's starting to get ridiculous and like youefind I'm not enjoying my days with her. I've tried several things like putting her down later, making meal times earlier raising head of bed but nothing makes a difference. I'll shall keep an eye on this thread for any advice! But you're not alone although it feels it at the time. X

My 10 month old has started to wake in the early hours and can then be awake for up to three hours! He just will not go back to sleep. No answers but I feel your pain. It's getting me down too :(

How does she go to sleep?

YoniMitchell · 24/09/2014 04:51

Ugh. I've been up with my 8mo from around 4am for the last couple of weeks, while he used to drift back to sleep if he work in the night, now it's all tears and demanding to be held, put down, no held, held a different way... It's draining and hard to function in the day.

Do they go through a growth spurt around now? Please let it get back to normal soon!
