2.5 year old waking early for last few weeks - is it the clocks

I haven't been on mumsnet for ages. It's nice to be back.
My ds is 2.5 years and has been waking sometime between 5 and 6 for about 3 weeks now. It is normally around 5.20am. He then proceeds to wake dd who has just turned 5 and desperately needs her sleep at the moment having just started Reception (she is having to cope with a long day). He has had phases like this in the past and so has dd but I just can't remember when it stops. I wondered if it was the clocks. Mine seem to have a knack of waking early before the clocks change. When do they change?
Just looking for any encouragement there is

Hello, long time no see, I was wondering about you the other day. Is it dark in his room? Other than that, no idea, mine are starting to wake later now it's darker in the morning

Hi WWW, it is good to be back! I have been so busy with work / kids etc I just haven't found time (I used to while away hours in my previous job on mumsnet happily chatting). It's good to see some names that I still recognise.
For DS yes it's dark in his room and bizarrely it's dark outside so it makes no sense. We are just all getting fed up with it. I know it will pass but it seems like a long time coming and dd is getting so exhausted. HOw are yours?

my ds is 5 but one of the younger ones in year 1 and my ds who's 4 is one of the younger one's who's in reception in mornings
my 5 year old is now waking between 5.45am and 6.30am and has done for the past couple of weeks.usually between 6.45 and 7.15am.no idea why, we use blackout linings and they've got a dimmer switch on so they can see to get up for the toilet but nothings changed so no idea why.
you're not alone though.im knackered.my 4 year old was sick from 4pm yesterday and i slep on the floor of their room to make sure he wasnt sick in the night, when he is he tends to be sick then sleep in it all!! yuck.
hoping the sleeping and sickness will setle down.

www can't believe ds is 9 and dd 3! Then again can't believe my dd is 5.
Mumandlovingit, you have all my sympathy, I don't konw why they have these phases. Ds woke at 4.50am this morning!!!! He then proceeded to cry out for either myself or dh until 6am when we relented and brought him in with us (after frequent turn taking in going in to quieten him and threaten him with everything we could possibly think of at 4.50am). Fed up with going to bed at 9.30 every night
