6 month wriggly baby waking up early

My 6 month DS has been a really good sleeper, going through the night from 10 weeks (sorry!). Although he doesn't roll over yet he has learnt to "scoot" himself backwards on his back. Not a problem during the day, but the last few mornings he has woken up between 5.30 and 6 and wriggled himself backwards into the corner of the cot at which point he gets very frustrated and starts screaming. Moving him back down the cot doesn't work as he just scoots back again. I suspect that he has often woken this early in the past, but he used to happily go off back to sleep until about 7. He sleeps in a sleeping bag, so isn't screaming because he is cold.
Does anyone have any idea how to discourage this?

I haven't used this myself, but I saw on another thread they recommended tucking the end of the sleeping bag under the mattress. Sounded like a great idea to me! xx

my DS is the same! I just keep moving him... or give in and get up and put him on the playmat...

My dd learnt to roll herself on to her tummy a good couple of weeks before she learnt to roll back again, and she'd squash herself against the bars of the cot.

She soon learnt to roll over all the way, and get herself back into a comfortable position. I expect your ds will be better once he has a bit more control over his movement so he can move himself back to where wants to be himself.
