Dd stopped her daytime naps at 18 months, and was sleeping 12 - 13 hours a night by that time.

3.5 hours a day would have been excessive for her from around 12 months, but they're all different and if he needs the sleep then he needs the sleep.

Bozza · 19/09/2006 21:23

both of mine were something like 12.30-2.30 for nap and 7.30-6.45/7 for nighttime.

Ds has an hour during the day and 10 hours at night. He's never been one for loads of sleep though.

JBW · 19/09/2006 21:44

Just stopped DS sleep during the day as he was not sleeping at night. Now sleeping from 7.30pm through to about 7.30am.

Its great!

has anything between 1-4hrs after lunch..... my dd that is hermykne.

My DD is 22 months and up until recently has slept a good 2 hour nap late morning/midday. Now its all gone pear shaped and I dont know why! She will not go down to nap in her cot and just gets herself into a real state that I've just stopped putting her into the cot for a nap. I know she gets tired. She will have a nap at nursery, for the three days a week she's there, its like as if there's the comfort of background noise and others around, whereas it seems she doesn't want to leave me - she literally clings to me if I try putting her down. She will sometimes fall asleep in buggy or car if we are out later in the afternoon.
Has anyone got any advice? Has anything similar happened to you?

dd2 sleeps for bout 2 hours in afternoon but occasionally misses iy if we're out
she sleeps 730 to 7 doesnt wake up at all
she is almost 23 months

i do think thats a long nap - would be for my dd but might work for others
how does yours sleep at night?

tinytotmummy · 25/11/2006 23:51

My dd is 23m and sleeps anything from 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours during the day (usually about 11ish) and then sleeps from 6.30pm - 7.30am.
I'd say that if they need the sleep, let them sleep!
