8 months old. Eats like a horse and still needs a night feed.

Returning to work soon. Help, he eats loads, is moving so v tired and hungry but no matter hoe much I give hi. During the day, he wants more.

Has a dream feed at 10 and the normally wants a feed around4/5am. Surely with 3 meals and 4 bottles this should be enough?!

To me this is normal. Think how fast he is growing! I would give it a few more (painful) months before trying to cut it out. Let him get really stuck into solid food first. That's just my view.

My ten month old is the same. He's dropped the 11pm feed (hurrah), and I think that's due to eating a huge dinner, but wakes usually about 3am for a feed. I'm just letting him get on with it, but I hear you about being tired - I'm just going with the path of least resistance for now, and re-evaluating once he's been in nursery for a little while.

He will swig 5-6oz of formula if he wakes around 10-11pm then wakes anywhere between 6.30-7 .... Or sleeps through and wakes 5.30-6

Or he wakes up at 3-4am but just for a quick comfort suck (I'm bfing after midnight to 7am very lazy )

Growth spurts, teething, development milestones - all could cause wakings.

Perhaps push the dream feed back to 10.30 - 11? But I wouldn't drop it just yet - and definitely not until you are back and settled at work

Mine was on three meals plus snacks at that age, two or three day BFs, plus a minimum of six (usually more) lengthy BFs throughout the night, until he was well over a year old. I went back to work full time when he was eight months old and survived. Be glad you have the opportunity for six or seven unbroken hours of sleep plus the ability to share feeds!

My 9mo is increasing his night feeds the more he eats :/ I don't think he's really hungry during the night, but sometimes has a bit of indigestion or wind, or just wants comfort. He has up to 4 feeds a night.
