Does anyone know when this hot weather is going to end?

I know it is going to get cooler tomorrow but is then due to get hot again at the end of the week. DD (6 months) really struggling to sleep it is so hot and I'm constantly sweaty too. I can't find anything on Google about the longer term forecast. Really need to either prepare myself for more to come or sweat it out (literally), knowing it will get better soon.

October hopefully!

(I sympathise really, DS is 3 and keeps waking up sweaty & grumpy - I need him to sleep through again soon!)

he will get used to it if it lasts. Babies in hot countries sleep. Get a fan in the room

Oh man it's a job to keep 'em cool. I use a fan outside the room but on really sunny days bedtime is later than I'd like it to be.

I second the fan suggestion. We angle one (that rotates) slightly above the height of her cot so she's not in a direct draft, but it moves the air around in her room and the white noise helps too.

Hi did you know there is a weather topic? It's in the other stuff section.
There's a mumsnetter who works in weather forecasting who may be able to advise you if you ask there.

A small thing that helps to lower the temperature slightly (every degree counts!) is to hang a wet towel over a clothes dryer. Some of the heat in air is absorbed by the towel as it dries. We keep end of towel dipped in the baby bath so it doesn't dry. Not exactly aircon, but does help.

Ah if you are using a fan, put a 1.5l bottle of frozen water in front of the fan. The air will feel cooler.
