Bedtimes with DC of different ages..

I have a 6yo daughter and 9yo son who stay with me several nights a week ( as per divorce etc... ) my daughter goes to bed 7-730 and son 7-30-8, they both wake around 6-630 ish so get 10-11 hour sleep a night - sometimes longer but thats a miracle! I just wanted to garner some opinion of the bedtimes and that its reasonable for the elder child who is 3 years older is allowed to go bed a bit later...

My oldest two DC's are similar ages. They both go to bed around 8.00pm but the 9 yr old reads in bed until 8.30-9.00. They get 10-11 hours sleep.

In my house I would suspect the younger of the two would kick off if he thought 9 yr old was still downstairs enjoying himself if I tried to separate bedtimes! Reading time upstairs is keeping everyone happy (for now)!

I think you are being reasonable allowing your DS to stay up a bit later.

I have a 7 year old and 10 year old. 7 year old bedtime is 8.30pm and 10 year old bedtime is 9pm.
