DS had always been a 7pmer, generally nodding off by 7.30pm at the latest without any fuss. For the past few weeks, it's 10pm before he goes off! He's frustrated as well, the poor love, and says "mummy I just can't sleep". We've tried bedtime later, by half an hour (7.30 bed, dropping off by 8) thinking he'd outgrown the earlier slot. I bought him a notepad so that he could write anything down that maybe on his mind. Also he gets anxious about forgetting things, but that's not made any difference (seriously though, every parent should give their child a notebook for bedtime journaling as it's so sweet to read what they've written, plus, it's great wedding speech material for when the day arrives). We've tried bananas as a bedtime snack. He's not keen but has tried to eat a small amount. I'm now trying omega-3 tablets for him as I read they can help with the development of their brains at this age, including helping with sleep.
Anyway, I know I read ages ago that at age 7/8 they go through a funny head space thing and going up into the juniors in September can cause a few behavioural changes. I guess I'm asking whether anyone is experiencing the same or has done with their offspring. Many thank you'd in advance!
