Does your baby burp after a night feed?

I bf my 6 month ds a couple of times in the night and try to burp him but he is always totally conked and I can´t get anything out of him at all. This causes major gassiness early in the morning which wakes him (and me) up. It´s exhausting! Do most people insist on getting a burp out of their babies in the middle of the night??

I did when she clearly needed it or for the reasons you have given I would

No I don't, during the day he burps in his own but a night he never burps. But he does fart quite a bit in the early hours so maybe I should!

I generally try (though sometimes take a chance and don't bother) as similar to your LO mine thrashes about if I don't. But it is hard to get out of her so I usually set nyself a time limit of ten minutes solid effort and if no dice then I just put her back down. Often when I lean her back in surrender to put her down a burp pops out!
