My 8 week old is in his cot bed now as he'd pretty much outgrown his Moses basket. I've got a 1.5 tog sleeping bag and what I think is a 1 tog, but I'm not sure if he should be in a sleepsuit and sleeping bag, just sleepsuit or sleeping bag and something short sleeved? The thermometer says 23 degrees at the mo

I have an 8 month old. We were putting him in just a vest and sleeping bag when it was warm, but I was worried about him not being able to get out of the bag if he was too hot so have switched to a sleep suit and a blanket.

Just a vest and a very light 1tog sleeping bag...

With my eldest who was born in a heatwave I would put her in a vest with just a single sheet layer on top of her. She wasn't a big wriggler and it seemed a bit cooler. Could also do just a sleepsuits with no cover?

I've got my 8 month old in a long-sleeved vest and a 0.5 tog sleeping bag. He seems ok. It's tricky though isn't it?

I only have one sleep bag and it's 3.5 so have taken baby out altogether and she's sleeping under a light blanket to her waist.

I'm monitoring her though and will put a heavier blanket on if she gets too cool. Easier for me to check as am cosleeping.

I actually think it's better for them to be cooler than too warm. Had windows in bedroom open last night and baby slept like a dream. (Lots of baby snores!)

Baby is 7 months.

DD is just turned 2, she's just in a nappy & short pyjamas, no covers, open windows. Was born during a heatwave, on the worst nights she would sleep in just a nappy & sleeveless vest in the bedside crib, we also had a fan blowing across the bed & crib, was about 26 degrees at night though & she's a very warm little thing.

My 7 month old is in a sleep suit and a grobag. I think it's 1.5 tog. Fairly light. If I don't put her in a grobag she rolls over and wakes herself up by getting her arms and legs stuck through the cot bars. Sad then she doesn't settle for ages as it hurts her. I've just ordered her an air wrap cot bumper so she can just have her sleep suit on.

4 month old in a vest.

She's always been a 'hot' baby and would sleep with nothing if I let her. I've tried to sneak a blanket on her when i go up to bed, but she thrashes about until it's off completely!

boopdoop · 21/06/2014 06:49

13 week old, in long sleeve vest and 1 tog grobag, with window open. On other slightly warmer nights I've gone with short sleeve vest and grobag.

7 weeks old in sleepsuit with a blanket to her waist, and another blanket later on when it has cooled down a bit (she likes to be warm).

bonzo77 · 21/06/2014 20:18

18 month old in a long sleeved vest and a 2.5 tog sleeping bag. He likes to be covered up and snuggly. He's got a fan on though. I don't think you need to stress so much over temperature once they are over a year, they're better at regulating it themselves.

Sheet sleeping bag from jojo plus a nappy only. We also have a lovely and cool muslin sleeping bag from Aden & anais.
