11 weeks old and sleeping more and eating less.

My 11 week old boy normally is an impossible sleeper. Hew as brilliant from 3- 8 weeks where he slept well at night and took regular naps in the day. For 3 weeks he became impossible to settle and would wake frequently in night, and after a cuddle fall back to sleep.
For the last 2 days we have been trying the pick up put down method - i thought it was working, but now he seems to sleep loads, and be eating less... has this coincided with a growth spurt? when he is awake he plays and stays up for 2 hours... but hes been napping for almost 2 hrs at a time now. He's sucking his thumb to put himself back to sleep.
I know I should be happy that he's finally resting - but I guess not used to this and so worry!
The trials and tribulations of being a mum.
Any thoughts?

Is he BF? If so he may just be getting more efficient at feeding. So long as he has plenty of wet/ dirty nappies and is alert when he's awake then just enjoy. Smile

He's breast fed, and having wet and dirty nappies... am trying to enjoy but we are barely making 5 feeds a day with me constantly reminding him every 3 hrs!

His feeding habits will change again. I wouldn't worry too much. Just go with the flow. You should get a steady feed routine at around 4 ish months. Then weaning kicks in and it changes again. They're growing everyday so their needs change.

I remember getting stressed when my bf DS1 suddenly started having fewer, shorter feeds at around 12 weeks. I think he suddenly got quicker at feeding. Agree with other posters, try not to worry if he seems healthy otherwise.
