We put ds in his covers / grobag up between our pillows, and moved our pillows as far down the bed as we could, without our legs sticking out So I would be safe under the duvet and ds would be up by my head. When he wanted feeding I would just grab him and pull him down next to me. When he got older and sturdier I found he was fine under the duvet with me (with no grobag, obv.)

If he is in between you and dh he won't fall out, but make sure neither of you have drunk alcohol, smoke, or are very overweight. It is easier than it sounds once you get going and makes life sooo easy in the first months. HTH, please come back and tell us how it goes.
