Is it just my 20month old that's broken or do they all do this?

Hello ladies, I'm just curious does this happen to all 20 month toddles or just mine that's busted and warranty has run out (lol)
Basically he's never been a terrible or a fantastic sleeper, just normal. He went through "regressions" and came out the other side, he has had stages of being poorly and needed us. But this recent one is exhausting cos he just wants ME!
He'll go into bed fine and chat about his day (as always) I say night night and leave the room (as always). 30 seconds later it's "Mummy mummy mummy mummy" getting gradually more upset. I'll go in he's all smiles. Repeat night night and he does it again. He stops after daddy goes in with stern night night voice. But he's started waking every 2 hrs doing the same only doesn't calm for daddy......just me :( I'm shattered.
He's in good health, nothings changed except he is learning new words everyday and getting way more confident. Do you think it's that? If this is normal when do they fix themselves??
Thanks lovelies x

Is normal but a total drag for you.

I'm in the same boat with DC2 (she's 22 months). She's been like this since birth for a few months.

I remember DC1 doing the same and it lasted nearly a year! But it did get better, and I think DC1 struggled because DC2 was born when he was 2.5 years, so right bang in the middle of this usual regression.
