Weird manic baby behaviour in the evening...

My little girl (9 weeks) is acting very strange in the evenings and has done now for a few weeks. We thought she was colicky as cried a lot from 6 to 11pm ish but this has turned into more like being wired and manic. She sleeps well in the day and I'd love to be able to put her to bed about 7 when she's been awake for a while, and do try to settle her in a gark bedroom with a good feed, but instead she starts pumping her legs up and down, being wide-eyed and sucking crazily on her hands (and now a dummy) no matter how much she's fed. By 11 she's exhausted and falls asleep, waking up at 4am ish for a feed an back to being normal. Just wondered if anyone else had this and if there is anything more I can do to settle her?

Is she breastfed? Maybe she just needs to cluster feed?

You could also try giving her a bath with baby massage afterwards?

Thanks mums. She is breastfed and did cluster feed at that time in the early days. Am going to try a combo of making sure she has good naps in the day, ditching the dummy in place of more feeding in the early evening and doing a proper bedtime routine a bit earlier. Fingers crossed she acts a little less weirdo then!

Mine was exactly as you describe - manic and wired in the evenings - it was definitely overtiredness so hopefully good naps should sort you out.

Sleeping 11-4 at 9 weeks is amazing though!
