What's so hilarious at 9pm at night?

My 11mo DD was FINALLY settling herself and sleeping through (7pm to 5am but still pretty great for her). It lasted about... ummm... 4 days.

Now (and for the past week) she REFUSES to go to sleep at bedtime. She just lays there laughing to herself. Proper belly laughing, squealing, giggling, excited shouting. It's been going on for 2 hours now. Last night she was up 11pm to 3am and we are knackered (both working FT) so planned an early night but she just won't sleep.

We are trying Controlled Crying tonight (or Controlled Laughing in our case) but getting nowhere.

We try to give her routine but she's just not in one, I don't get it.

She MUST be tired. At 7pm she looked ready to drop. We asked CM to limit naps etc which she has. I don't know what to do! She's squealing her head off in her cot. Shall we persevere with CC. Is this normal, to laugh like a maniac for hours on end?? Is it regression or what?

She slept 10pm til 2am last night. Got her back to sleep at 5am and need to wake her shortly for CMs. Surely this isn't enough? Help!

She was napping 2 hours 9-11amand 1 hour 2-3pm. She was sleeping 7pm-5am.

We asked CM to only let her sleep 1 hour in the morning which only started yesterday. She had her afternoon nap, came in tired, but stayed up practically all night.

I'm so tired I can't even think straight. Am at work sobbing Hmm
